Virtual Volunteer Creative Designers are needed to help design infographics, banners, brochures, and a variety of promotional materials for 2nd Chance 4 Pets. Our creative projects are ongoing and hours are flexible. Qualifications: Graphic Design skills using a variety of programs. Proficiency in Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator. In this volunteer role, it would be preferred that you have extensive experience with print and/or web design, graphics production, and be familiar with relevant design and production tools (i.e. PhotoShop, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, DreamWeaver, InDesign, etc). Please submit portfolio and/or samples of your work. (1MB-2MB PDFs). Attention to detail, positive attitude and good time-management skills are necessary. Qualified volunteers will be able to respond to emails and meet realistic deadlines. Interest in helping animals is a plus!

Role Summary:
Seeking an innovative and dedicated graphic designer to join our growing team. The individual in this role would be responsible for taking conceptual design ideas and creating visual representations of them, both electronically and in print.



Essential Tasks:


Sit in on conceptual design meetings and offer educated opinions.
Determine voice and messaging for graphic design pieces.
Advise on best practices and optimizations throughout design projects.
Select colors, font, images, and layout.
Create visualizations (either by hand or via a software program) which convey accurate messaging and undertones as dictated by the project.
Develop product illustrations, logos, website graphics, etc. as needed.
Present designs to stakeholders and applicable teams.
Implement feedback and changes when appropriate.
QA designs for errors.
Pass final design to development or publishing teams for release.

Qualifications required:

A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, design, or art preferred (extensive experience in the field may also be acceptable).
Experience with Quark Xpress, InDesign, and Photo Shop a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

We are looking for a graphic or visual designer who can help create assets that will share important updates and our story with potential sponsors. We are looking for a dynamic UI/UX Designer who will be responsible for the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design of our Crowddoing organization.

As a volunteer UI/UX Designer, you’ll create both functional and appealing features that address our clients’ health needs and help us grow our client base.

CrowdDoing is a global virtual collaboration to research medicinal foods for stress, sleep and anxiety. Our project has the goal of advancing integration across fields of research and to build medicinal foods literacies in the population.

Medicinal Foods for Stress, Sleep and Anxiety is recruiting a Volunteering UI/UX for Medicinal Foods, CrowdDoing.We're helping to build medicinal foods literacy and citizen science of foods & herbs for Stress, Sleep and Anxiety.

Key Responsibilities

Produce low, med, high fidelity wireframes, mockups, and workflows.

Create Design Guidelines provide clear instructions to designers and developers on how to adopt specific principles, such as intuitiveness, learnability, efficiency, and consistency.

Conduct user research, testing, usability testing using a variety of methods such as user interviews, contextual inquiry, and literature review, etc.

Develop UI mockups and prototypes.

Research and Implement Information Architecture and Behavioral Design features to help build Habit Forming products

Conduct user story mapping and user journey mapping as needed.

Gathering and evaluating user requirements, in collaboration with product managers and other team members

Designing graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets

Create personas through user research and data(qualitative and quantitative)

Keep abreast of competitor products and industry trends

Problem-solving attitude

Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables)

Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders

Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)

Virtual catch up meeting every week with the team

Comfortable working in a startup phase non-profit organization

Education and Certifications

A Bachelor's degree or Associate degree in Art, Design, Psychology, Human Computer Interaction, Anthropology, or a related field
