The National Alliance on Mental Illness in Delaware (NAMI Delaware) would like to host a 2-3 hour session focused on organizational positioning/creating communications templates and tools.The mission of NAMI Delaware is to support, educate and advocate until there is a cure for severe and persistent mental illness. One key components of our mission is to raise awareness about mental illness.
Volunteers would assist in the development of strategy and resources to engage corporate/workplace environments to help raise awareness about mental illness, resources, and support options. This would include strategies for offering awareness activities, educational programs and support programs at corporate locations. It would be helpful to get the insight of HR professionals, marketing professionals, training and communications professionals in the best way to engage the corporate community and professionals.
Also, NAMI Delaware would like to develop a corporate presentation template/slide-deck that will better engage and resonate with corporate professionals. Helping focus content for a corporate professional and learn activities that will help engage these individuals when discussing a sensitive and often stigmatized topic. NAMI has the expertise in content. We could use the help of communications, HR, training, and marketing professionals to help hone our message for a professional audience and ensure it is suitable for a corporate environment.

We are always interested in focusing on “general” awareness activities. Where AZ could help is to offer marketing expertise to assist us in developing awareness materials, social media campaigns, and awareness presentations.
October 1-7, 2017 is Mental Illness Awareness Week nationally. We could use assistance from marketing professionals and communications professionals to help us develop a MIAW awareness campaign strategy utilizing community partnerships, social media, and other tools to help raise awareness in Delaware about mental illness and to combat the stigma associated with these diseases.

Visual Brand Designer - Help launch a rebrandWe are looking for help with our visual brand refresh. Our brand is well known among the scholarly community, now we want to expand to other though-driven audiences including those working in tech, new media art, and curatorial practice. We hope this volunteer will help deliver program visuals to include logo design, print and digital templates, digital and print style guidelines, and CSS stylesheets.
Time frame - Open start - beginning of 2nd quarter 2017.

The website has been created in Wordpress with some hard coded pages. Coding knowledge is an asset but not mandatory. Creative and design ability is essential.
Looking for an ongoing commitment, ideally six months, on a itinerant basis as features are required for the site. Amount of work will mostly depend on creativity of the volunteer.

Provide safety and technical guidance to high school students as they brainstorm, design, prototype, build, program and test competition robots during January and February; continue during competition season March and April each year. Teach basic principles during the summer months and in the fourth quarter of the year as school starts up. You decide how much time you wish to give based on your common interests. No robot experience is necessary; only the interest to work with motivated teenagers. Head Mentor will provide guidance and direction to individual mentors.Students learn by doing hands-on activities alongside mentors with industry experience. They learn teamwork by working in small groups with other students, some of whom have 1-3 years robotics experience. Advanced students learn technical topics from field wise mentors with specific technical skills (EE, ME, CS, Programming), while others learn general skills (e.g. Fundraising, Grant Writing, Pit design and layout, Presentation preparation and delivery techniques, outreach to younger students, etc.).
