Opportunity Details

We will be supporting 200 expecting and new military moms with a baby shower. Most of these moms are ranked E5 and below (eligible for food stamps) have husbands deployed or soon to be deployed.

Female Volunteers: Will be paired up with a mom, you'll sit with her, eat with her, hold her baby, ooh and ahh over all the cute gifts she will open and help pack up her car when it's time to leave.

Male Volunteers: Will help with registration, parking, photo assistants, lifting of heavy items etc.

Advance Social Innovation (ASI) is a registered nonprofit organization whose mission is help under-represented entrepreneurs to grow their business through our innovative solutions. We are looking for Content Creators to write and publish various types of marketing material for our organization’s web pages. Ultimately, you will help us reach our target audience by delivering both useful and appealing online information.
Content Creator responsibilities include producing marketing copy to advertise our products/service and promoting our content on social media. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with digital publishing and generating traffic and leads for new business. Some typical responsibilities include:
• Coordinate with marketing and design teams to prepare and publish marketing contents

Requirements

Public Art Reston is seeking skilled volunteers to join its Communications Committee. The role of the Communications Committee is to support the overall comprehensive marketing and communications strategy for Public Art Reston. The committee partners with staff to oversee a consistent and active communication strategy to all stakeholders for the purposes of program messaging, fundraising, awareness, and branding. The Committee provides guidance on the implementation of the marketing and communications plans. All communications committee members should have a background in marketing, development, graphic design, media, communications, or public relations and should have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Communications Committee meets approximately 6 times/year, usually on Wednesdays from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. Committee members can serve up to two three-year terms.

Public Art Reston is seeking skilled volunteers to join its Public Art Committee. The Public Art Committee provides oversight of both civic and private developer projects and ensures that knowledgeable artistic expertise is brought to bear on the review of public art projects, including artist selections, and artist concepts. The Public Art Committee is a committee of Public Art Reston that provides guidance regarding aesthetic decisions for specific projects and initiatives. The Committee is comprised of up to nine at-large members of the community. Candidates will have a background in the visual arts, public art, design, architecture, landscape architecture, urban design or structural engineering and will serve up to two three-year terms. The Public Art Committee meets six to seven times a year.
