As a newly formed charity in memory of our son (an Air Force firefighter serving with the 148th Fighter Wing in Duluth, MN), we are novices, to say the least and would like a professional looking logo versus one I made in Publisher. Our big annual even will be an ATV Ride - which we have named Storm the Trails. Our son enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, ATving, - but was most proud of his service to our country serving in the Air Force as a Firefighter. He was also a Nationally Registered EMT.

Position Description:

Seeking a creative, detail oriented videographer to photograph and film the various activities that are taking place at Project Somos. Using the footage, you will be expected to create promotional videos that exemplify Project Somos' values. These videos will be featured on our social media websites, and will be created in a team setting in conjunction with the Executive Director and Social Media Intern. Additionally, the Videographer may be asked to organize and file videos/photographs and label them accordingly. Successful candidates will also be expected to photograph the progression of various projects on location, and may be asked to photograph special events if required.

Skills Required:

Portfolio submission required
Competency in, and access to Photoshop an asset
Must own a digital SLR camera, or have knowledge of how to use one
Self starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to collaborate closely with others
Some fluency in Spanish is helpful
Cultural flexibility

General:

As well as the above outlined position description, all interns are expected to participate in Village activities and special events where needed. All will be expected to work together to offer extra-curricular programming for the children based on skills and interest level. Successful candidate will be required to submit current Criminal Record Check.

Position Description:

Looking for a passionate and proactive communications intern to expand and update Project Somos' social media platforms for public relations. Our social media intern will actively interact with online communities (including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) by building and managing social media profiles and developing our internet presence. The successful candidate would work in coordination with the Executive Director in redesigning Project Somos' official website, to make it more user friendly. Additionally, daily duties will include scanning newspapers/websites daily for stories that would be relevant to Project Somos and assisting with philanthropy and sponsorship announcements.

Skills Required:

Marketing experience, preferably in IT
Knowlage of basic web design
Self starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
Strong communication presentation and influencing skills essential
Excellent written communication skills to communicate effectively on social media and in professional contexts

The International Child/Parent Development Program (ICDP) aims to strengthen the empathy-based relationship all child caregivers have with the children they care for so that they may promote positive development and well-being. ICDP is adapted and integrated within communities through the training of each community’s professionals and parents. Changing Children’s Worlds Foundation (CCWF) implements ICDP throughout the Chicagoland area.

We're looking for a creative, smart, and organized volunteer with a passion for graphic design. Projects will include the creation of promotional, educational, and resource materials. This opportunity has flexible hours and will offer the applicant the opportunity to help create a finished product for Changing Children's Worlds programs. This internship might also offer the opportunity to contribute to our current curriculums and other projects. It also will give volunteers the opportunity to work in the nonprofit sector and gain insights into nonprofit management, children's rights and work within communities.

Requirements:
- Must be self-motivated with a great attitude.
- Must have previous experience in graphic design.
- Proficiency in Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Flash, or alternative programs.
- Some photography skills.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Experience with fundraising events a plus.

Spanish language is not required, but would be an asset.

The Social Media Team will collaboratively manage railLA's social media accounts, currently Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube. Roles and tasks will vary throughout the day, but may include posting relevant news for High-Speed Rail, Metro Rail, and transportation related stories on the social media sites, commenting on relevant trending topics, scheduling posts, shooting photos for Instagram, and creating memes. Wit, clever humor, and creativity are appreciated. The Social Media Team will collaborate via email and group text and is responsible for maintaining the brand of railLA on social media and serving as a public face for the non-profit while creating content on social media. The team will work directly with the Marketing and Communications committee. Los Angeles, Venice, Santa Monica locals are preferred.
