We always need volunteers! Volunteering does not have to mean a large time commitment. In fact, many of our volunteers donate an hour or two a month, when it fits into their schedule. A range of opportunities is available:

If you only have a couple of hours to give each month or two, you might like to help with transport or an event.

If you love dogs and are able to foster, we'd love to give you more information about our foster program. Rescue pays for all veterinary care and medications, you provide the food and love!

If you have more time to give, perhaps you’d like to become more involved in our ongoing functions.

And if you have special skills, we're eager to see how your expertise matches what we need.

Hope to hear from you today!

Systemic Change Gap Analysis: Systemic change is a toolset for thinking about impact. CrowdDoing (www.advancesocialinnovation.org/crowddoing) is a collaborative effort that aims to scale social innovations towards systemic change goals such that Sustainable Development Goals become achievable. If you haven't heard of systemic innovation, Nesta in the UK held a discussion of it (https://www.nesta.org.uk/publications/systemic-innovation-discussion-series). Our impact potential analysis team looks at the gap between a scenario in which a social innovation plays a meaningful modest role in social innovation and the potential for that social innovation under certain scenarios to play a transformative role in social challenges. Social innovation gap analysis is a pre-cursor to Systemic Change Gap Analysis along with Systemic Change Asset Mapping. Our volunteers collaborate in teams with project managers and human resource business partners virtually across time zones and countries.

CrowdDoing is at an early stage of developing an area of emphasis and excellence in service of a social innovation device that gathers blood sugar data to develop applications, big data analysis, machine learning, medicinal food alternatives, games where people measure what they eat and collaborate through citizens science, recommendations of health choices for diabetics based on this information, along with distributed peer to peer randomized control trials of medicinal foods. CrowdDoing allows virtual volunteers to help social innovation and social enterprise. More than 1800 volunteers from more than 50 countries have applied to help CrowdDoing through Advance Social Innovation (www.advancesocialinnovation.org/crowddoing). Please help us help develop advanced data and analysis through mobile device and computer based applications that help people make sense of this data.
The focus of this volunteer opportunity is developing peer to peer randomized control trials that allow medicinal foods to be understood based on their effect on blood glucose. The goal is to be able to know dosages and subtle implications like interaction effects of foods in combination with eachother through big data analysis combined with a smart phone application.

Come join us as a innovator coach!

Social Venture Partners (SVP) Fast Pitch highlights and propels social innovation in the Puget Sound Region and beyond. Innovators tackling societal challenges are paired with business and community leaders who help them accelerate their impact. Each year, 56 innovators compete in one of five tracks: startup nonprofit, established nonprofit, for-profit, high school, and university.

Throughout the four-month program, innovators hone their ideas and improve their pitches via clinics and coaching from professionals. In the past 6 years, SVP Fast Pitch provided 15,000+ hours of coaching and $1M+ in grants and pro-bono services to 300+ social impact organizations tackling poverty, homelessness, inequity in education, prisoner recidivism, climate change, and other huge challenges.

Coaches help their assigned innovator develop and deliver a 5-minute pitch which inspires listeners to learn more about how they can help the organization pursue its mission and goals. Expertise we look for: general business/startup skills, non-profit/for profit consulting, mission/vision definition, presentation skills. Coaches are assigned to innovators in mid-July, and generally volunteer for 20-40 hours (dependent on how far innovator progresses in program). These hours can be flexible and agreed up on with your innovator directly.

Our program is fueled by our amazing volunteer community and we would love to have you join the team!
