Mission Statement
Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, sterilize and give into adoption abandoned cats and dogs trying to change their destiny. "La casa de los abuelos" Project Argentina is crowded by animals that nobody wants due to the governments lack o action in the subject. The Average life of a dog is 15 years. Not all of them have the luck of being adopted, only 1 of every 10 will have a home. This becomes worse if we take into account the health problems, if they are handicapped, if they are not particularly appealing or have a gift, and above all, the age of the animal in risk. Most people dont adopt old or handicapped animals. For those animals that nobody will adopt and we rescue is that we wish to make a home, where they have all the comforts during the cold winter and summer, and they feel like at home. At least in this way we try to help the abuse they suffered during a life of abandonment by the society.
About This Cause
Perritos de Villegas Foundation was founded on the belief that all animals are entitled to protection under the law. We are a group of people who united voluntarily when we got to know about the ordeal animals that were admitted in the Villegas Dog Pound located in Isidro Casanova, La Matanza District, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina Republic. We struggled during 2 years to modify the system. With the help of people who have been joining us all this time we free more than 600 cats and dogs from the medieval cages where they were enclosed. Most of these cats and dogs could get a new fate/ home /life when being adopted. Our fight continues and at present we rescue and help animals from Buenos Aires capital district and its surroundings. So far we have saved more than 4000 animals in need. We established Perritos de Villegas Foundation to be able to go ahead with our work which consists in • Rescuing • Healing / curing • Giving for adoption • Raising awareness about animal abuse We are convinced that the only ethical way of solving animal overpopulation is through spaying and neutering campaigns that’s why they are one of the main pillars of our organization. MISSION To advance the safety and well-being of animals Our mission is to rescue, to give veterinary attention, to vaccinate, to remove parasites and to make responsible adoptions of abandoned cats and dogs come true. To participate actively in spay and neuter campaigns in the outskirts of the city on the foundation’s own initiative or to collaborate with other protectionist entities through solidary help, affording and getting surgical materials . To deliver medication, vaccinations and food whenever possible to the animals whose owners do not have the means to solve this kind of expenses. Basically, our mission is to save lives and give them a new home through adoption. EDUCATIONAL PROJECT This is an ambitious project that means working not only in the present but also for future generations. We want to implement awareness and educational workshops in the schools nearby. These workshops will be given by professional veterinarians and volunteers with the purpose of raising awareness of animals’ problems and environment care in children above all. This project needs human resources on one hand because it involves volunteers, veterinarians, biologists, teachers, graphic designers, etc. On the other hand, it involves materials such as book editing, and informational brochures.
