Foodbank NSW & ACT is a non-denominational, community supported not-for-profit, that rescues unwanted food and re-distributes it to people in need across Australia.
About This Cause
Foodbank is Australia’s largest food relief organisation, rescuing 33 million kilos of food and groceries annually and providing food for 60 million meals a year or 166,000 meals a day to over 2,400 charities and 1,500 schools nationally. We achieve this by working with the Australian food and grocery industry which provides surplus and donated product. We also collaborate with farmers, manufacturers, suppliers and the government on innovative programs to produce key staple foods such as breakfast cereals, milk, pasta, canned foods and sausages. With each year two million Australians, or 1 in 10, seeking food relief and half of them being children, our mission is to deliver the most food to the most Australians in need in the most efficient way.
