Mission Statement
The vision of the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation is: Every woman, everywhere - free from the threat of ovarian cancer. To achieve this vision we are heavily focused on the development and implementation of an early detection program.
About This Cause
TThe principal activity of the OCRF is to advance the health of women and promote the prevention and control of ovarian cancer. We raise funds to support medical research in ovarian cancer and, thereby, increase long term survival rates and quality of life for all women, girls, families, and community members impacted by an ovarian cancer diagnosis. Our vision is a future where women+ with ovarian cancer live long, healthy, active lives. With a current 49% survival rate, and chemo-resistant disease, there remains a long way to go to achieve this aim. The OCRF has four main objectives: (a) fund national ovarian cancer research, with the ultimate aim of prevention and cure for ovarian cancer; (b) fund the most promising and innovative research proposals; (c ) attract and fund the most skilled researchers undertaking work in ovarian cancer research; (d) advocate, raise awareness, influence and engage meaningfully with the individuals, communities and partners involved with the OCRF to further these objectives.
