To provide everyone with equal opportunities to become engaged in the community through a variety of interactive social and physical activities, allowing each individual to learn new skills, to develop a sense of belonging and confidence in their own abilities, and to help them to be more connected to the community.
About This Cause
OUR VISION is: To be at the heart of the community providing a holistic wellness program that can address everyone’s physical health and mental well-being. Sisters with Helping Hands is a registered charity that is dedicated to providing support services to the community. Due to the lack of services in the very multicultural areas in Southern Brisbane, they have developed a new major community infrastructure project for the Brisbane community: The Hurricane Stars Community Centre. In one location we have an aquatic centre, ladies gym, community centre(multi-purpose facility), sports gymnasium, restaurant, allied health centre, childcare centre and a recreation centre. The centre will provide a wide range of consistent social and physical activity programs for all ages. Nurturing and engaging the community from birth until old age, in a warm family-like environment – a first of it’s kind in Australia. Providing ground-breaking new opportunities for all community members, that will change the way community programs are run. We are registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) as a Public Benevolent Institution endorsed to access the following tax concessions: GST Concession, Income Tax Exemption, FBT Exemption. Sisters With Helping Hands is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR).
