Mission Statement
Asylum Seekers Centre (ASC) provide practical and personal support for people living in the community who are seeking asylum and waiting, with uncertainty, protection in Australia. ASC promotes self sufficiency and independence to help people seeking asylum build the foundations for a new life. ASC advocate for a supportive policy and service framework that recognises the rights and needs of people seeking asylum in Australia - regardless of how they arrive. It creates a welcoming and supportive community - involving people from all walks of life in its work while building understanding of asylum issues and support for people seeking asylum.
About This Cause
Asylum Seekers Centre (ASC) a place of hospitality and welcome. It is an oasis for many people, a safe place for those who have fled situations of great danger and seeking protection in Australia. Supporting an ever-growing number of individuals and families, ASC delivers holistic services to address the immediate and diverse needs of people seeking asylum: accommodation; financial relief; legal advice, medical health care, counselling; employment assistance; food and material aid; education and social support. ASC Values are: - a people's centred service that responds to the needs of people seeking asylum, that is adaptable in what they do and how they work; - an organisation that operates within a strong human rights framework to welcome, respect and support people to realise their right to live in peace and free from danger; - a service that works collaboratively with people seeking asylum, volunteers, sector agencies, donors and supporters to provide the best possible service; and - an accountable and transparent agency.
