Mission Statement
Thorne Harbour Health, formerly know as Victorian AIDS Council, leads the fight against HIV by providing care and support for people living with HIV, health promotion, and advocacy. Thorne Harbour Health works to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for the LGBTI community.
About This Cause
Thorne Harbour Health, formerly known as Victorian AIDS Council (VAC), is Australia's oldest AIDS organisation, founded by the community in 1983 in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The organisation works to confront the continuing challenges, and strengthen the independence, dignity, health and wellbeing of people living with HIV, as well as the broader lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) community. By making a a tax-deductible donation to Thorne Harbour Health, you can help make a difference to the quality of life of people living with HIV and work towards reducing the prevalence of HIV in our community, and improve the health outcomes for all sexually and gender diverse communities. Your donation will help to continue providing services to people living with HIV and the broader LGBTI community, including: * HIV risk reduction education campaigns * Accessible rapid HIV and STI testing services * Community support programs and residential services * Emergency relief, financial and legal assistance * Therapeutic treatments and groups * Counselling services * Drug and Alcohol support services * Trans and gender diverse health * Intimate partner and family violence support * LBQ women's health
