About This Cause
Our service is based on essential needs during difficult times such as the pandemic Covid-19 isolation time and is free from discrimination. We make sure clients receive high quality services which in a major way help them to delay or avoid altogether, the need to move into more complex aged care. We strive to address demonstrated service demand pressures and supply shortages for frail aged above 70yrs of age, some above 90. Their wellness, independence and reablement are focussed on. Resourceful Australian Indian Network Inc established the Life Long Learning building fund to improve and maintain the Community centre they purchased at 501 Forest Road, Penshurst, NSW 2222 where the seniors are being provided with centre based respite and social support in groups. Daily Indian vegetarian meals are cooked and delivered to the needy frail aged seniors. Seniors are provided with art and craft sessions, cultural and spiritual enhancement sessions, health awareness and mild chair exercises and yoga sessions as part of their life long learning program. Currently plans are in process for building a bigger better kitchen to accommodate and improve provision of cooking meals for the needy frail aged. This has been requested by volunteers who assist on a regular basis. The Centre also has a community garden which grows vegetables and herbs which the seniors are happy to share. RAIN also provides mobility aids to the needy seniors.
