Since 1880, The Salvation Army has offered support without discrimination. In times of crisis, whether its fire, flood, family violence, addiction, poverty or homelessness, The Salvation Army wants to be there to help.

About This Cause

The Salvation Army provides over 1,000 social programs and activities through a network of social support services, community centres and churches across the country. Our areas of focus are youth, homelessness and emergency assistance, recovery services (drug and alcohol rehabilitation), rural and emergency (disaster) services. Our programs focus on providing holistic responses and services aimed at addressing welfare concerns. Every week thousands of Australians turn to us for help – for shelter, food, a refuge from domestic violence, for counselling and many other needs. Over the last financial year (2014-2015), The Salvation Army (NSW, QLD, ACT) helped some of the most marginalised people in the community: 3,000+ women were helped by domestic violence services 12,000+ assisted by homelessness services, by way of case management support 3,000 young people assisted by youth support services 50,000 meals served to the hungry every week
