About This Cause
New Generation Humanitarian NGO (NG NGO) is a non-governmental organization established in Armenia in 1998. The NGO implements its activity based on humanitarian principles in order to contribute to the regulation of the issues and promote wellbeing of the society, and in particular those faced by vulnerable groups. The NGO’s activity is aimed at the protection of human rights, ensuring access to healthcare services, empowerment of vulnerable groups of the society, organizations and non-formal groups, state agencies, provision of social assistance as well as at the support in the implementation of the obligations of the Republic of Armenia under RA Constitution and those assumed under international legal acts. Strategic goals of the organization are: - Human rights protection and advocacy; - Facilitation of access to health care and services; - Capacity building and empowerment; - Humanitarian support. Beneficiaries: - LGBTQI+ people and MSM; - People who use psychotropic substances, - Sex workers; - People living with HIV and TB; - Migrants and refugees, forcibly displaced people; - Prisoners and detainees; - Young people. The following services and activities are provided/implemented within the above-mentioned strategic goals: HUMAN RIGHTS PROTECTION AND ADVOCACY - Legal advice and attorney’s support; - Court representation; - Strategic litigation, ECHR cases; - Legislative analyses and recommendations, reports. FACILITATION OF ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE AND SERVICES - Peer to peer consultation about HIV and AIDS; - Free, anonymous peer to peer testing for HIV, in sero-positive cases referral for ARV treatment; - Screening and treatment of STIs; - Screening and/or treatment of HCV and HBV; - Vaccination against HBV; - Provision of prevention and education materials; - Provision of PrEP and PEP. CAPACITY BUILDING AND EMPOWERMENT - Organization of seminars, trainings, meeting-discussions; - Exchange programs; - Provision of sub-grants; - Technical support; - Vocational (requalification) trainings. HUMANITARIAN SUPPORT - Social and financial assistance; - Gift cards; - Psychological consultation; - Temporary shelter; - Clothes and food assistance. The NGNGO head office is situated in Yerevan, it has branch offices and DropIn centers in Gyumri and Vanadzor cities, a separate DropIn Centre and shelter in Yerevan.
