About This Cause
SOS Children's Villages Brazil is a global humanitarian organization that has been operating in the country since 1967, dedicated to promoting, defending, and ensuring the rights of children, adolescents, young people, and families in vulnerable situations. Our work focuses on family strengthening and alternative care, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to grow up in a safe, protected environment with access to opportunities for a dignified future. Currently, we are present in 31 locations across 17 states and the Federal District, with more than 80 programs and projects directly impacting thousands of people throughout Brazil. Our initiatives include institutional care, family and community strengthening, professional training, labor market integration, support for youth autonomy, and emergency response actions in humanitarian crises. SOS Children's Villages Brazil is part of SOS Children's Villages International, the world’s largest organization dedicated to child care, operating in 137 countries. With over 70 years of history, our global network has impacted millions of children and their families, offering a care model based on the right to family and community-based care. Committed to the UN 2030 Agenda, we actively work towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on poverty eradication (SDG 1), quality education (SDG 4), decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), and reducing inequalities (SDG 10).
