Visao Coop connects favelas and scientists with technologies to build collective intelligence. We have developed AI to monitor climate change on territories in real time. As Environmental Leaders in Startup20, we are mapping tools for biome regeneration and climate adaptation.
About This Cause
Visão Coop connects residents of peripheral areas and scientists with digital tools to build collective intelligence. We organize digital cooperation platforms in Brazilian favelas to map environmental vulnerabilities, mobilize climate action and social participation, producing territorial data from local memory, and implementing social and climate adaptation technologies to decentralize investment in innovation and ecosystem regeneration. We are among the 10 most innovative socio-environmental impact businesses in Brazil according to BNDES Garagem 2023 (the acceleration program of the National Development Bank), developing real-time monitoring and reaction to environmental disasters using artificial intelligence. Our talent is creating processes of local integration, articulating the work between scientists and residents! Today, we present indicators of a successful case of flood mitigation in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro. In 2024, we are coordinating the Environment pillar of Startup20, the G20 engagement group, producing the report on green innovation and nature-based technologies. We built Regenera.AI—a platform for the regeneration of biomes like the Atlantic Forest and the Amazon. On the platform, we develop projects for climate adaptation and resilience focused on favela territories and priority regions like Rio Grande do Sul.
