Mission Statement

Care for those who care for the forest.

About This Cause

ONG Zoé is a nonprofit that brings healthcare to remote communities in the Amazon rainforest. We serve Indigenous and riverside populations across the Baixo Amazonas region of Pará, including Belterra, Santarém, Aveiro, and Óbidos — an area larger than Switzerland and Belgium combined. ➡️ What do We do? • Medical Expeditions Our volunteer teams travel deep into the forest to offer medical, dental, and psychological care — right where it’s needed most. • Surgical Missions. We perform surgeries in both local hospitals and onboard hospital boats like the Barco Papa Francisco. • Telemedicine Access We use technology to connect remote patients with specialists, ensuring ongoing care even between expeditions. ➡️ Our Impact (So Far) • 13,000+ medical consultations • 400+ surgeries • 300+ active volunteers • 30+ successful expeditions. ➡️ Why does It Matters? The people we care for are the guardians of the forest — their well-being is essential for the protection of the Amazon and the planet. By supporting Zoé, you’re helping build a healthier, more just, and more sustainable future — starting in the heart of the rainforest.
