Mission Statement
The Ramakrishna Vedanta Ashrama, Sao Paulo is a branch centre of world-wide non-political, non-profit, non-sectarian spiritual organization of Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, headquartered at Belurmath, Kolkata, India dedicated to the service of humanity. Motto – 1. Shiva Jnane Jiva Seva - Service to man is service to God 2. Atmano Mokshartam Jagadhitaya cha - Individual spiritual development with social commitment.
About This Cause
The activities of the centre renders services at all levels: spiritual, mental and physical, through an array of diverse activities. These activities cover different areas of human need and social welfare such as education, health, rural development, self-employment, women’s welfare, inter-faith understanding, moral life, spiritual guidance, and relief to victims of calamities. All these activities are conducted as service, service to God in man. The Ramakrishna Vedanta Ashrama, São Paulo serves the community & society at large to enhances all aspects of human well-being through its multifarious activities - 1. The aim is to study & propagate the eternal principles of Vedanta as lived and experienced by Sri Ramakrishna & expounded by Swami Vivekananda through lectures and various Vedanta worships & publication of books, agazine & articles. The centre serves people of all faiths. 2. Spiritual growth of its members and society in general through Meditation Courses, Counselling & Spiritual retreats that bring communities together in times of crisis and throughout the year. 3. Promoting health through yoga and awareness workshops. 4. Promoting cultural values in society through conducting cultural events and celebrations. 5. Promoting education for socio-economic backward section. 6. Rural women welfare and medical help. 7. Natural disaster relief & rehabilitation to victims of calamities and pandemic relief. 8. Girls education & education to under-privileged by donating books to the students who are in pursuit of knowledge, food, scholarships or by creating libraries and also by providing mentoring support to lead a dignified life. 9. Empowering the underprivileged children and assisting them to lead a dignified life. 10. Publication of spiritual books and magazines. 11. Project Food Basket for poor and needy alleviating the suffering of the poor’s hunger. 12. Health care support for poor patients. 13. Promoting inter-faith harmony through religious dialogues, seminars and workshops.
