These are bold actions that enhance the development of the socially vulnerable population, with great ethical commitment and whose competence is recognized by effective results and various awards, such as: one of the 100 Best NGOs in Brazil for 7 consecutive years (Instituto DOAR and Rede Filantropia ); DOAR Seal – Certificate A+ Standard for Management and Transparency of the Third Sector (DOAR Institute); Best Social Assistance NGO in Brazil in 2018 (Instituto DOAR and Rede Filantropia); Itaú Award – Unicef 1st place in MG and national finalist in 2018 Ramacrisna acts in an articulated manner and with total involvement of the community, understanding its demands and seeking to carry out its activities in order to respond to these needs and contribute to improving the quality of life of the community and its surroundings. During meetings and events, in conversations with parents and project participants, it is possible to strengthen ties with the community. At these times, the community externalizes its wishes and provides relevant information and feedback on the progress of activities and proposals carried out. It is a moment of exchange, raising demands, evaluations and suggestions. Local public schools are also heard and are great partners, as we work with a common audience. Principals, teachers, coordinators and monitors complement the project's work proposal in order to integrate experience and practice, with schools and their surroundings as a source of research. With the proposal to transform the reality of young people and adults who are inserted in a scenario of social vulnerability, the Ramacrisna Institute develops, free of charge, professional training courses for residents of Betim and 12 cities in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte. The courses are aimed at an audience aged between 16 and 50 years. At the end of the courses, participants receive a certificate of completion. In addition to the theoretical and practical classes relevant to each course, we enable personal growth, guaranteeing them access to human training, promoting alternatives for income generation with a view to their self-sustainability and family support, in addition to contributing to the development of these people as citizens PROFESSIONAL COURSES offered: Automotive Mechanics; Facilities Electrician; Installation and Maintenance of photovoltaic plates; Industrial Robotics; Welding; Computer Operator and Local Area Networks; Audio-visual; Photography; Video Maker; PLC programming; Logistics; Basic Informatics; Sales; Administrative Assistant, Receptionist, Excel; Advanced. ORCHESTRA YOUTH RAMACRISNA: Created in 2005, it aims to bring to the reality of children and young people the beauty of the universe of quality music, Classical Music, Popular Brazilian Music, Pop rock, etc. With the project, 73 children, teenagers and young people at personal and social risk in Betim, aged between 11 and 25, attend practical classes and musical theory workshops on string and wind instruments. SPRING MUSIC FEST: Held 7 editions (2013 to 2019) – of the festival that offers free access to classical and instrumental music workshops and performances to residents of various cities. ANTENADOS PRODUCER: It had its origins in the Young Communicators Connected Project, created in 2007 by the Ramacrisna Institute with the aim of offering young people the possibility of becoming potential content producers and transforming agents in the society in which they live. Currently as a Producer, it works with companies and organizations in the Third Sector, producing videos, institutional films, photos, etc. The resources obtained are intended for young people. Promoting workshops with technological follow-up such as educational robotics, 3D printers and augmented reality glasses broaden students' horizons, enabling access to the university and the job market. These innovative activities, combined with human training, benefit children and young people in situations of social vulnerability, aged between 06 and 29 years, providing social inclusion and protagonism for the child and youth population, contributing to a transforming socio-educational process for the individual and the whole society, as well as enabling the sustainable development of the community where they operate. EDUCATIONAL ROBOTICS: The activity of inventing, programming, assembling and moving a little robot exercises logical reasoning, provides collaborative work, data sharing and promotes interdisciplinary, to name but a few, among a multitude of pedagogical gains. And it goes far beyond that. Having fun with programmable kits, software, protoboards, wires, sensors, boards, motors, scraps, this generation of students starts an important turning point for the future. By becoming interested in the study of programming, these people prepare the ground for their future insertion in the job market, which increasingly demands these skills. Knowing how to program is having technological autonomy. AUGMENTED REALITY: The purpose of augmented reality is to simulate a reality that doesn't actually exist. It allows students to interact with three-dimensional objects and scenarios. The technology allows, for example, a teacher with a Tablet to guide their students to inhospitable areas of the real world, like swimming with sharks, visiting space, turning the classroom into a museum and much more without leaving the place. Through this technology it is possible to put the student in the main role, enhancing their learning in an intense way and closer to reality. 3D PRINTER: The 3D printer promotes activities that encourage collaboration, creativity and sharing among students and for the development of the use of this technology they model the parts in Paint3D of the Windows Operating System itself and use Simplify3D software to translate 3D models into instructions that the 3D Printer understands. HOPE ONE WORLD PROJECT – has been taking place since 2003. The project proposes an exchange between professors and graduate students from Liverpool Hope University's School of Art and Design and students from Ramacrisna and artisan women. Brazil is the only non-English-speaking country to participate in the project, and Ramacrisna is the only institution chosen for the activity. LIBRARY ARLINDO CORRÊA DA SILVA: Created in 1974, a space with 194 m2 has a cultural collection, with 9,500 books of children's, youth and adult literature. READING SUITCASE PROJECT: Awarded in 2015 as the best Reading Incentive Project throughout Brazil by the National Foundation for Children's Books and Youth. It consists of taking the reading to institutions that do not have any type of library, such as community day care centers, Basic Health Units, etc. The suitcase holds 40 books and becomes an “exhibitor shelf” when opened. Books are on loan and are periodically renewed.
