About This Cause
The Pink House is the last and only PWID drop-in center in Sofia , who are often homeless and usually have no identity documents. They are the most vulnerable members of society and often have no other place to go to receive legal advice or social support, take a shower, have a cup of tea or something to eat. For them, the Pink House is safe haven, a last resort of dignity.Unfortunately, the organization which supported the center has decided to discontinue the service and the Pink House is supposed to close doors at the end of April 2019 due to lack of funding. To preserve the drop-in center and its services, the Bulgarian foundation “Center for Humane Policy”, presided by Yuliya Georgieva, who is also a Co-chair of the Steering Committee of EHRA (Eurasian Harm Reduction Association), has decided to take over its administration. Until sustainable funding is secured, the rental lease agreement on the house has to be re-signed and salaries secured for the staff at least for a few months ahead. Please help us save the Pink House, Sofia’s only shelter for the most vulnerable!
