About This Cause
Bridgers is a non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to fostering positive change and empowering communities in Cameroon. Founded in 2013 and registered in 2016, Bridgers addresses critical social, economic, and environmental challenges through innovative programs and initiatives. With a mission to promote and protect the rights of vulnerable women and girls, the organization operates in education, healthcare/SRHR, women's empowerment, environmental conservation, and youth development. Bridgers strives to create a lasting impact by partnering with local communities, governments, and international organizations to implement practical solutions and create a brighter future for those in need. Through its commitment to collaboration, capacity building, and community engagement, Bridgers continue to make a significant difference in the lives of individuals and communities, contributing to positive social change. Accredited to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and with many other international and national affiliations, Bridgers flexibly works with new and innovative individuals and partners who are passionate about providing sustainable solutions to the challenges that vulnerable people and communities face. Works in Cameroon but prospects other parts of Africa in the future. Our Vision: We have the vision for a level ground where all women/girls would have equal access to resources to enable them realize their full potential, their sex, age, colour/race, country and financial backgrounds notwithstanding. Our Goal: To propel women/girls to become socio-economically viable so as to minimize dependence which makes them chronically vulnerable to all forms of violence. Our Values: -Empathy -Humanity -Solidarity -Social Justice -Racial Justice –Equity and Accountability. Some Areas of our Intervention: We work within the framework of UN Agenda 2030 on SDGs and AU Agenda 2063 - Women Leadership/Entrepreneurship - Gender Based Violence Prevention (GBV) - Water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) - Sustainable Agriculture and Environment - Women’s Sexual Health and Rights (WSHR) - Health care research, esp. baseline studies that will lay a rational for further actions. - Community Projects Our Theory of Change: With ECOSOC Special Consultative Status, Bridgers Association Cameroon is a flag bearer of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) and so far has attained its mission in the past years(2013-2022) of its existence. This has been achieved through youth and women empowerment through the promotion of quality education, agriculture, WASH, entrepreneurship, capacity building in volunteerism programs and Reproductive Health Rights protection and education. To guarantee its sustainability, successful projects and ensuring the enforcement of the principle of solidarity, Bridgers is involved in partnerships and collaboration with other organizations and stakeholders, in line with its mission, also aiming to eradicate poverty and uplift women’s place in society, which is free from violence and all forms of inequalities. Bridgers is convinced that as long as the aforementioned is ensured; the community becomes a safe space for all, especially, women/girls as they are the habitually vulnerable group. It enhances an environment free from discrimination, stigma, ignorance, hunger, environmental chaos and injustice. To effectively attain the aforementioned, Bridgers takes advantage of all funds, grants and donations to positively impact societies in Cameroon. Our measuring impact has accomplishment of and has been very consistent; Bridgers has impacted positively those women/girls, who have benefited immensely from our initiative. Bridgers also applauds and acknowledges the steady collaboration of the schools, our partners, the government and the youths in actively participating in our social media campaigns to make the world a better place and achieve sustainable development. From Our Feasibility Studies, we would like you to support in one or more of the following: - Partner and Support the rehabilitation/construction of water collection points (Boreholes, natural springs and wells) in the Baka Pygmy zone, Mbam and Kim Division and other rural parts of Cameroon. - Provide seed capital for women/girls economic empowerment in Cameroon for them to start income generating activities. - Provide sustainable menstrual hygiene kits to keep more girls in school. Scale up our organic agriculture projects for women in Cameroon. - Provide psychosocial support, basic material support and economic empowerment for IDPs in Cameroon. - Partner with us for our Health Awareness and Disease prevention Programs particularly in women/Girls including HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B, Malaria in Cameroon. - Support the planting of economic trees for both environmental and economic dimensions. - Partner and provide solar energy/renewable energy in a neighborhood in a remote village in the North West Region of Cameroon
