Mission Statement
At New Beginnings Recovery Home, our mission is to deliver compassionate, culturally‑safe, and evidence‑based care to those facing addiction and mental health challenges. We are more than a treatment facility, we are a safe haven, a healing community, and a launchpad for individuals ready to reclaim their lives. As one of Canada’s first BIPOC-owned residential recovery centers, we provide care rooted in dignity, trust, and belonging, with a focus on youth, low-income individuals, and racialized communities often overlooked by traditional systems. Located in the Greater Toronto Area, our home provides a secure, trauma-informed environment where individuals can access personalized support rooted in clinical best practices and cultural relevance. Through therapy, life skills, community connection, and family engagement, we help clients move beyond survival toward stability, resilience, and self-worth. Recovery at New Beginnings isn’t just about abstinence, it’s about rewriting your story and stepping boldly into a future that once felt out of reach.
About This Cause
New Beginnings Recovery Home is a registered non-profit and one of Canada’s only BIPOC-owned addiction and mental health treatment centers. Built on a foundation of equity and cultural safety, we provide life-changing services to individuals navigating substance use, trauma, and co-occurring mental health concerns with a focus on serving marginalized and underserved communities in the Greater Toronto Area. We deliver a full continuum of care that’s trauma-informed, clinically sound, and culturally grounded: • Residential Programs (4–8 weeks): Structured, holistic healing in a supportive environment • Outpatient & Transition Services: Flexible programming to support daily life and reintegration • Family Support: Counseling, education, and connection-building for loved ones • Aftercare & Peer Support: Ongoing support to promote long-term recovery and prevent relapse Our team includes certified therapists, social workers, addiction counselors, and peer support specialists, many of whom reflect the communities we serve, often stemming from lived-in experience. We use a diverse blend of therapeutic approaches (CBT, DBT, expressive arts, mindfulness, life skills) to treat the whole person, not just the addiction. Through community partnerships, advocacy, and outreach, we extend our impact far beyond our walls, offering education, connection, and healing across systems that have historically excluded racialized, low-income, and vulnerable populations. We are proud to offer OHIP-covered pathways for eligible clients, ensuring that care is accessible regardless of financial status. At New Beginnings Recovery Home, we don’t just provide treatment. We create spaces where people are seen, heard, and empowered to transform their lives. Together, we can build a brighter future for individuals and families affected by addiction.
