About This Cause

SafeLink Alberta is a nonprofit organization that works to reduce the risks associated with sexual activity and substance use by offering low-barrier, non-judgmental, and informed programs and services. For over 40 years, we have been advocating for and serving priority populations because we believe that everyone deserves access to healthcare and support. Through our drop-in services, outreach, case management, peer support, and education, we support individuals in Calgary and southern Alberta navigate care and reduce the transmission of sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBIs). For over 40 years, we have been serving and advocating for priority populations because we believe that everyone deserves access to healthcare and support. Our work focuses on reducing health disparities by providing essential services to individuals at increased risk of Sexually Transmitted and Blood-Borne Infections (STBBIs) in Calgary and southern Alberta through our drop-in centre, outreach, case management, peer support, and education programs. At our drop-in centre, we offer critical resources, including basic food and hygiene supplies, HIV self-testing kits, in-house STBBI testing and treatment, HIV treatment referrals, and other lifesaving supplies and services. With your support, we can reach more people. A donation of: $50 provides a facilitated peer support group for participants. $100 provides food and hygiene items for five people experiencing homelessness. $300 provides our drop-in centre with 10 HIV self-testing kits for participants. $500 provides a best practice workshop for service providers that address best practices and emerging trends in sexual health, and other related topics.
