To cure ALS through funding research, while advocating for and supporting people living with ALS.

About This Cause

The Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Society of British Columbia (ALS BC) was founded in 1981 by Dr. Andrew Eisen, ALS patients and family members, to meet the physical and emotional needs of people living with ALS and their caregivers. Through donations and fundraising activities, the Society can continue and expand the following patient services and programs: • Equipment loan program • Outreach and public awareness • Team ALS BC & Yukon Volunteer Program • Patient transportation support • Mobile clinics to reach out to patients who cannot travel to Vancouver • Camp Alohi Lani (camp for kids who have a parent with ALS) • Caregivers’ Days – day of respite for caregivers • ALS Symposium – ALS education and training • Patient and family support through support groups and Care Connect • Psychological support program for patients and their families • ALS Research Through ALSBC PROJECT HOPE
