Mission Statement
The Canadian Mental Health Association (Saskatchewan Division) Inc. is a volunteer-based organization which supports and promotes the rights of persons with mental illness to maximize their full potential; and promotes and enhances the mental health and well-being of all members of the community. We are one of the oldest and largest community-based human service organizations in Saskatchewan (64 years), since 1960
About This Cause
CMHA Saskatchewan Division is proud to be part of CMHA National (100 years old), connecting us with branches and divisions across Canada. CMHA Sask. Division was the first incorporated (since 1960) CMHA provincial division in this organization. We utilize a governance by policy model and have a volunteer Board of Directors as well as a Management Team. CMHA Sask. Division has ten branches located throughout the province. Branches are responsible for providing direct community focused services (psychosocial rehab, vocational, education, peer/family support) for mental health clients and communities in their area. The Saskatchewan Division Office is responsible for advocacy for mental health services, research, education and some provincial-scope programs such as Operational Stress Injury and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (OSI-CAN PTSD) Programs, the Justice Community Support Program, the Gambling Awareness Program, Bounce Back for Youth, Caregiver Affected Recovery Education (C.A.R.E.), Transition, Healing through Humor, and the Friends for Life (Hope Learning Centre) mental health education program. While the CMHA Saskatchewan Division receives some limited government and grant funding, the majority of our work is done through much needed community based support such as charitable donations, sponsorships, and bequests. Please support us, to help our communities to reach for "Mental Health for All" members.
