Mission Statement
The Canadian Mental Health Association (Saskatchewan Division) Inc. is a volunteer-based organization which supports and promotes the rights of persons with mental illness to maximize their full potential; and promotes and enhances the mental health and well-being of all members of the community.
About This Cause
CMHA Saskatchewan Division is one of the oldest and largest community-based human service organizations in Saskatchewan (64 years), since 1960. We are proud to be part of CMHA National (100 years old), connecting us with branches and divisions across Canada. CMHA Sask. Division was the first incorporated CMHA provincial division in this organization. We utilize a governance by policy model and have a volunteer Board of Directors as well as a Management Team. CMHA Sask. Division has ten branches located throughout the province. Branches are responsible for providing direct services (psychosocial rehab, vocational, education) for mental health clients and communities in their area. The Saskatchewan Division Office is responsible for advocacy for mental health services, research, education and some provincial-scope programs such as OSI-CAN PTSD Project, the Justice Community Support Program, the Gambling Awareness Program, Healing through Humor, and the Friends for Life (Hope Learning Centre) mental health education program. While the CMHA Saskatchewan Division receives some limited government and grant funding, the majority of our work is done through charitable donations and bequests.
