About This Cause
Casey House is unlike any other hospital. We are a specialty hospital in Toronto providing ground-breaking care to people living with and at risk of HIV. Together with our clients, staff, peers and volunteers, we strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels safe. We offer a growing mix of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services that meet clients where they are in their individual journeys of health and wellness. Building on a legacy of advocacy and social justice, we actively dismantle barriers to care and safe living. We provide a community and sense of belonging that connects people to care. The humanity of each client is at the heart of everything we do. Inpatient care: The inpatient unit features fourteen private rooms and a team of nurses, doctors, a clinical pharmacist, and allied health professionals, including social workers and mental health therapists. Together, the interdisciplinary team provides 24 hour sub-acute care for illnesses and infection, stabilization, mental health and addictions, respite and palliative needs. Outpatient care: Outpatient care is through the day health program; a goal-focused outpatient program running Mon-Fri, supporting clients with complex health needs to build their resilience towards wellness and health outcomes. These services consist of one-on-one care and group sessions from an interdisciplinary clinical team. Child Care Fund: Casey House Foundation raises money for the child care fund. Through this donor funding, AIDS service organizations can access child care funding for women with children under the age of 12. This enables mothers or fathers to focus on their own health care needs by attending medical appointments or workshops related to HIV, obtaining respite care, or being admitted to hospital.
