Mission Statement
The Cosmopolitan Music Society of Edmonton has been helping Music Lovers become Music Makers since 1963. The Cosmopolitan Music Society (“Cosmo”) gives amateur adult musicians and singers the opportunity to learn and perform quality concert band, jazz, big band, and choral music. Our beginner band program gives new players the opportunity to learn an instrument, to read music, and work towards a performance skill level that will enable them to play in one of the three concert bands. Under professional music direction, our concert bands and choirs perform at all levels of ability, from beginner to advanced; and our jazz bands at novice to intermediate (Big Band), and advanced (Jazz Orchestra).
About This Cause
The Magic of Music campaign provides friends of the Cosmopolitan Music Society with a way to support CMS’s vision of providing inspirational community based choral, jazz and concert band performances as well as supporting the continued enjoyment and development of musical excellence in the community. Your gift as a Magic of Music donor will help Cosmopolitan Music Society (CMS) continue to grow and develop excellent community-based music programs and performances for years to come. Our Magic of Music contributors believe that experiencing live music has a magical effect on our hearts and minds. Our donors also recognize that live music has a positive effect on our lives and is a key element in the cultural fabric of our families and community. Magic of Music donors receive recognition in year-end CMS concert Program, acknowledgement in our Annual Report, early access on concert ticket purchases (Donor Levels $500+) Funds raised by the Magic of Music campaign will directly support our current and future community-based music programs. Anyone! Magic of Music contributors may include: Community members who enjoy music and wish to support community-based music programs, current and past choral or concert band members of our society, business community members who wish to enhance the work of CMS.
