Mission Statement

Delivery of the Alberta Education Program of studies in a faith based environment to approximately 6,000 students in eleven schools from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Students are engaged in various social justice and charitable works including Teens for Change and Santa Anonymous.

About This Cause

The Fort McMurray Catholic Board of Education provides public education in a faith based environment to approximately 6,800 students. Services include the delivery of the Alberta Education Program of studies from Kindergarten to Grade 12, Early Childhood Services (ECS), English and French as Second Languages (ESL/FSL), First Nations, Metis and Inuit (FNMI) programming, counselling services, student transportation and special education services for students with mild, moderate or severe disabilities. Out of school care is also provided in seven schools. Students and staff are also active in many social justice and charitable work in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo including Santa Anonymous and homeless support projects. Several bursaries and scholarship funds are also provided by the Board of Education. The Board operates eleven catholic schools which are also made available after school hours for youth groups and other community events.
