About This Cause
Dedicated to the mental health and well-being of children and families, Lutherwood provides therapeutic services for children and youth experiencing significant mental health challenges. Our children's mental health center in Waterloo is home to our day and live-in treatment programs. Our school-based day treatment service is for children and youth aged 6 to 18 whose mental health challenges have caused concerns for them at school. Our live-in treatment services are for you ages 12 to their 18th birthday. This program works with the youth and their parents/caregivers to develop skills and strategies for their mental health needs in their home and community. Additionally, we offer community based children's mental health services. Safe Haven Youth Services provides three areas of programming Crisis, Respite and Life Launch. Crisis services is for youth between the ages of 12 and their 18th birthday who need a safe place to spend the night. The same aged youth who access our planned respite services are provided with the peace of mind that they have support and services in place on a regular basis to preserve their family. Youth between the ages of 16 and their 18th birthday who need to establish their own housing can access our Life Launch program to walk along side of them while they stay at Safe Haven learning key life skills prior to moving out on their own. Our innovative approaches and proven practices focus on helping our clients understand and cope with mental health issues and significant changes in their lives. Our caring staff work with each individual to identify their unique challenges and develop a strength-based strategy to achieve their personal goals. We provide services to more than 15,000 people annually in Waterloo Region and Wellington County.
