Together we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
About This Cause
Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon was the first Canadian Chapter and the first chapter outside of the United States. Founded in 1983, we have granted over 2500 wishes for children in our region. We are part of the largest wish granting organization in the world serving 50 countries on 5 continents. We rely on funds donated by individuals and corporations. The funds raised grant the wishes to children with critical illnesses in our area. We ensure the wish is very personal, involves the entire family and is free from financial worries. Volunteers are the backbone of our chapter, creating magic for those in their community and helping keep our administrative costs low. We do not solicit wishes nor do we participate in door-to-door, electronic or telemarketing campaigns. A 'wish' is a child's personal, heartfelt answer to the question, "If you could go anywhere, meet anyone, have anything or be anyone, what would you choose?" Each wish is as personal and unique as the child themselves. Wishes fulfill fantasies, create adventures, and make memories. By making a donation, YOU become part of this story.
