Mission Statement

Starbright Children's Development Centre is a registered charity and not-for-profit that provides early intervention to infants and children who are at risk for, or who have been diagnosed with, a developmental challenge. Established in 1966 by parents of children with cerebral palsy and supported by the pediatricians who cared for the children at that time, the agency now provides a wide range of services to any child from birth to school entry who has any kind of developmental challenge. The early intervention services provided are at no cost to the families due to a service agreement with the Ministry of Children and Family Development.

About This Cause

Starbright employs personnel from multiple disciplines who work within multi-disciplinary teams to address the needs of their child clients: . occupational therapists . physiotherapists . speech and language pathologists . a board-certified behaviour analyst . infant development consultants . inclusive childcare consultants . inclusive childcare educators, and . a clinical counselor. Depending on the needs of the child, various disciplines may each contribute to the individualized intervention planning for that child. The Centre employs just over 60 personnel who work with infants, toddlers, and preschool children and their families at the Centre, in their homes, or in community settings such as daycares and preschools.
