ROMAN CATHOLIC BISHOP OF THE DIOCESE OF CALGARY

CALGARY, Alberta, T2S 2T2 Canada

Mission Statement

Established in 1912, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Calgary stretches 110,000 square kilometres spread across southern Alberta. Comprised of over 450,000 Catholics, 70 parishes and 17 missions, the diocese is led by Bishop Frederick Henry. Our mission of “Feed my lambs. Feed my sheep.” drives everything we do to spread the Gospel of Christ to Southern Alberta.

About This Cause

A diocese, from the Greek term of dioikeîn meaning to keep house, administer, govern, exists to ensure the Faithful within its boundaries have access to everything they need to practice their Faith in a meaningful way. The Diocese of Calgary does this by providing various ministries and offices to serve the 450,000 Catholics in Southern Alberta. We also provide services and programs to aid those struggling in our communities. Acting as the hands and feet of Christ and following in the footsteps of the Good Samaritan, we Feed the Hungry, care and advocate for the marginalized, provide housing and community connections for young women experiencing pregnancy in crisis, and provide grants of support to other charitable organizations serving those experiencing poverty, isolation, marginalization, grief and other areas of struggle.
