Mission Statement
The Salvation Army is the largest NOG provider of social services in all of Canada. It has existed to meet the needs of those most vulnerable in Canada and in our global society. We invest in people – in nurturing their strengths, capacities, and skills to provide long-term and self-sufficient solutions to some of the greatest obstacles they face.
About This Cause
Community and Family Services has a long-maintained role of working with some of the most vulnerable members of society. We offer a range of community services, which reflect the needs of the diverse ethnic groups in Mississauga. Our services include food banks, community gardens, financial workshops, free tax clinics, empowerment for girls (Brave) and trustee programs; social activities; services for seniors; programs for mothers and caregivers of young children; summer camp for children and youth; counseling services; and more. Our services are designed to reach everyone needing The Salvation Army’s support. We work every day to be a transforming influence in the community. Through our Community and Family Services programs, we support the ability of people to empower themselves at all stages of life to break the cycle of poverty and reduce isolation.
