Mission Statement

YWCA Halifax has been an integral part in improving the lives of women for over 140 years and has over 80 years’ experience in community wellness programming. Our programs are based on building the assets of the people we serve. We develop capacity in women, young women and families to be self-sufficient and resilient. Our continuum of services means that we support the development of the “whole person”, and offer a path to breaking down multiple barriers to fully participating in life.

We build economic security, promote wellness and create opportunities for women, girls and their families by providing a strong voice and integrated services.
