About This Cause

Driftwood Hispanic Soccer League/Club, DHSL is a volunteer-based community-run youth soccer league/club operating out of Driftwood Community Centre and neighbouring outdoor soccer fields in the Jane and Finch area since 1979. Our organization was incorporated as a non-profit organization by its founder Remberto Navia on March 31, 1995. We are a community organization that seeks to engage children and youth from all communities – particularly those from marginalized, low-income and under-resourced communities through participation in year-round comprehensive programming and activities. The league has grown tremendously over the years and has witnessed tremendous talent develop in our grassroots program. One of our biggest achievements is to see many of our young players male/female that have gone to play in a professional atmosphere all over the world. Many players have capped for the Canadian national team, played in the top leagues in Europe, North America and have played in division 1 Colleges and Universities. The National futsal team roster is made up of 50% DHSL members who grew up playing in our grassroots program.
