About This Cause
Equitas is a Canadian non-profit organization that works for the advancement of equality, social justice, and respect for human dignity through transformative human rights education (HRE) programs in Canada and around the world. We support the empowerment of people to challenge inequity and discrimination, and to take action to build more inclusive and rights-respecting communities. Working with diverse groups in Canada and internationally for more than 55 years, Equitas’ participatory education programs have been used to raise awareness, change attitudes and behaviours, and support groups to develop strategies to promote equity, counter racism and discrimination, and engage communities and decision-makers to work together towards systems change.
