About This Cause

For almost 50 years, CSSP serves the Latinx/Hispanic community in the GTA and the province of Ontario. We have grown steadily over the decades and expanded programs and services along the way to better serve the changing needs of the community. The clients we serve include vulnerable populations and Equity-seeking groups whose first language is Spanish and require a range of supports. The majority are newcomers and refugees – victims of gender-based violence, seniors, women, persons living with HIV/AIDS, persons with precarious immigration and employment status, persons with low income, youth, homeless. At CSSP, we offer multiple programs that addresses the needs of these wide range of clients. Our impact 2021-2022: +2180 families received food bank support; 768 legal cases managed related to employment, immigration and community support; +150 people participated in settlement workshops; 1216 settlement counselling clients were assisted; 294 woman received crisis counselling; 48 woman received transitional housing support; +600 clients received HIV/AIDS counselling and outreach services; 28 youths were involved in publishing of Avenida Magazine; +200 senior participate in educational, health and social activities; +150 Christmas donations were distributed to low-income families.
