Mission Statement

The Cochrane Activettes is a women's service club, started in 1978, devoted to making the community a better place. To undertake service projects in the community of Cochrane and area. To engage in charitable welfare and civic work in the community. And to promote friendship and goodwill among the members.

Vision A Cochrane and community where no one goes hungry. Mission To relieve hunger in Cochrane and area every day by: • Raising food and funds to provide short term relief in the area of food insecurity • Influencing public policy to create longer term solutions for hunger and poverty • Providing funds for programs that help to educate people on better eating and purchasing habits Motto Relieving hunger today. Preventing hunger tomorrow. Values Teamwork Transparency Integrity Accountability We are committed to working collaboratively with our Board, Staff, Volunteers and Partners in the community. We conduct our activities by being open and accessible to strengthen our network and maintain the trust of our Stakeholders and the Public. We value results and measure our performance against precise goals; we take ownership and responsibility for doing what we say we will do. Objectives RAISE FOOD AND FUNDS TO SHARE WITH FOOD BANK RECIPIENTS WITHIN OUR BOUNDARIES THROUGH: INFLUENCE PUBLIC POLICY TO CREATE LONGER TERM SOLUTIONS TO REDUCING HUNGER THROUGH: PROVIDE FUNDS FOR PROGRAMS THAT EDUCATED FOOD BANK RECIPIENTS ON BETTER EATING & PURCHASING HABITS THROUGH: • Grocery store collection bins • Food drives • SYC campaign • Building reputation, presence and impact with key decision makers and stakeholders in our community • Working with FCSS and other community groups to provide programs on education • Continue to support schools with breakfast and lunch programs Goals RAISE FOOD AND FUNDS INFLUENCE PUBLIC POLICY PROVIDE FUNDS FOR PROGRAMS • Increase the amount of funds raised • Increase the amount of safe quality food donated • Educate the community to provide safe quality food • Deliver a predictable stream of food and funds through food drives • Investigate new avenues of increasing food donations via community events and other groups’ events • Raise public awareness of the Food Bank • Community awareness of the Food Bank continues to grow (both aided and unaided awareness) • Additional interaction with other groups within the community • Monitor our goals and initiatives
