FAMILY SERVICES OF GREATER VANCOUVER

Vancouver, British Columbia, V5N 1W1 Canada

Mission Statement

We work to inspire and support those in our community who need help to reach their full potential: children are nurtured, youth find optimism, adults feel empowered, and parents make choices that build strong families.

About This Cause

For 90 years, Family Services of Greater Vancouver (FSGV) has been supporting thousands of families and individuals in need, in crisis, and with trauma. FSGV helps people build resiliency, develop skills and knowledge, and gain confidence to make positive changes in their lives and create a brighter tomorrow. FSGV was founded in 1928 in response to a need in Vancouver to provide social services to struggling families. Today these needs are still present in our community and demand for supportive services continues to grow. FSGV delivers 50+ programs across Vancouver, Richmond, New Westminster, and Surrey. Programs consist of counselling, victim services, services of youth experiencing homelessness, community education programs for children, families, and seniors including financial literacy workshops, pre-school literacy and school readiness programs, parenting programs, and programs for English learners. Last year alone, FSGV served over 10,000 clients.
