Mission Statement
The Fort McMurray Golden Years Society, in operating the Seniors Activity Centre, is dedicated to providing the facility where seniors and/or members can enjoy participation in a variety of activities promoting wellness
About This Cause
We are a registered charity. The prime purpose of the activity center is to promote wellness and fellowship through activities to all seniors in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. We focus on every aspect of our seniors and work hard to enhance and maintain the well being of our members. Card nights, weekly luncheons, bocce ball, bowling, Arts and Crafts, outings, chair yoga, coffee time, social events, games, senior month activities, choir and health clinics. We also offer our low income seniors our income tax services free of charge. Our membership is 55+. Membership is $20.00 for the year and goes from January to December. The Golden Years Society is governed by 15 volunteer Board of Directors. They have one paid employee who oversees the organization and its programs.
