Mission Statement
We can build bigger shelters, but we'd rather build better communities. Our goal is to create a society where animals are valued and respected. We believe that every animal should live in a stable and secure home environment. Only by changing individual and societal behaviours can we reduce the suffering of animals.
About This Cause
The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth does more than just pet adoption. Our Centres offer education programs for children and adults to encourage responsible pet ownership. Our camps and clubs focus on delivering programs that empathize compassion and empathy for all beings. Community programs include school visits by trained educators and their canine companions; and no-cost emergency boarding of pets for individuals who have no other option. We have an animal care hospital that provides spay/neuter services for unowned cats and pet owners on fixed or low-income. We receive no government funding in support of these community programs and services.
