Mission Statement
Manitoulin Health Centre (MHC) is one organization with two hospital sites, serving the Manitoulin Island region. Each year thousands of people come to us in need and we are there to respond, whether it’s through our Emergency services or in-patient wards. People like you, your family and your friends.

About MANITOULIN HEALTH CENTRE Manitoulin Health Centre is a non-profit health care provider that relies on a variety of funding sources to provide the necessary resources for the organization to continue its care. Although we receive funds each year from the province, this money supports operating expenses of our two sites, such as heat, hydro, drugs, supplies, salaries, etc. These funds do not cover the replacement of expensive equipment and WE NEED YOUR HELP. TELEMETRY CAMPAIGN MHC has recently embarked upon a $350,000 Fundraising Campaign to replace outdated cardiac telemetry monitoring systems at both hospital sites. Cardiac Telemetry is the continuous remote monitoring of the heart’s rhythm functions. The patient wears the electrodes and transmitting device on their chest, and the signals are sent wirelessly back to a central monitoring system. The information sent to the central station allows for clinical staff to watch for any critical changes to the patient’s heart condition. The monitoring station is computerized and can store, print or electronically send the data, allowing for MHC to consult with specialists at remote locations (like other hospitals or clinics). This equipment is critical to the functions of an acute care hospital in providing patient care. Please consider donating to Manitoulin Health Centre today.
