About This Cause
Solel Congregation of Mississauga is a dynamic, progressive hub of Reform Judaism west of Toronto. We embrace diversity, egalitarianism, and personal choice in carving out a path to living a meaningful Jewish life through study, community, and charity. In addition to our faith-based programming, worship, and life-stage events, we engage in interfaith activities and our Rabbi chairs the Peel Interfaith Council. Our community outreach includes an interfaith summer camp, synagogue tours for secondary and postsecondary institutions, and presenting to community-based organizations in Southern Ontario. We were a founding partner of Pathway Non-profit Community Developments Inc. of Peel and the Mississauga Food Bank and regularly campaign to raise awareness and donations for these organizations. We partner with the Credit Valley Conservation Authority in returning our lands to the natural environmental species of the area through the Greening Sacred Spaces Program. We run a religious and language school 2 days a week that supports Jewish education and enrichment, Hebrew language, and cultural history for preschoolers to adults. We sponsor and run a Jewish Information Class open to adults in the general community, which runs throughout the year. Lastly, we provide space for Mississauga community groups to gather for social and support programs.
