Mission and Values: Growing Together Realizing Potential Making a Difference! At SPLASH, we strive to create and maintain a community that promotes personal growth, health and safety. Our values reflect this belief, and guide our actions and our relationships with the children in our care, their families/care-givers and co-workers. About This Cause
S.P.L.A.S.H. Child Care Inc., Splash Child Enrichment Centre, and Splash Early Learning Centre (opened March 7, 2022) are non-profit, licensed early learning & child care centres. We provide quality programs and care to children and families in the William Whyte, St. John's, and River/Osborne neighbourhoods in Winnipeg. Our mandate is to meet the needs of all of our children by strengthening our collaboration with agencies and the community to provide the best possible service. We value our collaborative relationships we have developed over the years in and around our community. Our partners with Child and Family Services, SSCY, Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre, the Winnipeg Indigenous Friendship Centre (WIFC), Winnipeg School Division, 1JustCity, Just a Warm Sleep, West Broadway, West End and Augustine Centre (Oak Table, Augustine Church, SPLASH) have increased our children's abilities, improved EDI (Early Development Indicator) scores and their overall well-being. Through our strong mission and values we embrace diversity, inclusivity, nature and land based learning, technology, humour and being an integral part of the community. Our curriculum includes aspects of the Abecedarian Approach, Emergent curriculum, Pedagogy, Moe the Mouse literacy program, Second Step and Forest School/Land based Education. We believe our success comes from building resilience, living in partnership with others and providing programs that meet the needs of the communities we are part of. Our school age program is licensed for 46 children between the ages of 4-12. Splash Child Enrichment Centre is licensed for 48 children between the ages of 12 weeks to 5 years of age. 82% of our families receive subsidy. 32% of our children are currently in the care of child welfare. 11% of our children have additional support needs and are funded through Early Learning and Child Care Inclusion Support Programs . Our new program- Splash Early Learning Centre, at 109 Pulford Street is a community hub model in collaboration with the other partners of Augustine Centre (Augustine Church and Oak Table) as well as 1JustCity, West Broadway and West End. There are child care spaces for 36 infants and 56 preschool children. Families at SELC consist of people living in River/Osborne, families and foster agencies utilize our service from all over Winnipeg as well as people living and working in the downtown core.
