About This Cause
The St. George's Greek Orthodox Church and Community Centre is the central hub of Hellenic culture in the Maritimes. The organization supports many educational and cultural programs, including a Greek language school, traditional Greek dance groups, Greek youth groups, University Scholarship programs, a Russian language school, and a women's philanthropic organization. Its major fundraiser each year is Halifax Greek Fest. A four-day event that showcases Greek food and culture. It is an entirely volunteer driven event and is extremely well-planned and organized.
