As the largest non-government funder of community services in the GTA, United Way Greater Toronto reinforces a crucial community safety net to support people living in poverty. United Way’s network of agencies and initiatives in neighbourhoods across Peel, Toronto and York Region works to ensure that everyone has access to the programs and services they need to thrive. Mobilizing community support, United Way’s work is rooted in ground-breaking research, strategic leadership, local advocacy and cross-sectoral partnerships committed to building a more equitable region and lasting solutions to the GTA’s greatest challenges.

WE WAKE UP TO A DIFFERENT ALARM. Soaring housing costs. Food insecurity. Skyrocketing costs of living. One in four families in the GTA live in poverty. At United Way Greater Toronto, these issues keep us up at night. But they are also what gets us up each day, determined to fight poverty across Peel, Toronto and York Region. And we are giving it everything we got. To connect 1.8 million people each year to food, housing, good jobs, mental health supports and more. To protect community spaces, ensuring our network of 300 social service agencies delivering over 650+ vital programs and services can continue to be there when people need them most, close to home.
