Mission Statement
To help build a caring society by providing excellent health, social and housing services for seniors, veterans and other adults. Broadmead Care serves our community through leadership in long-term care delivery and by pioneering programs, services and methods that contribute to innovation in the health care system.
About This Cause
Broadmead Care offers compassionate, person-centred care that helps people enjoy life to the fullest – regardless of circumstances that affect their health and well-being. Broadmead Care helps veterans, seniors and adults with disabilities - people who require assistance every day to live their lives as fully and meaningfully as possible. They are exceptional people and they are served by employees and volunteers who are exceptional in their professionalism, their dedication and their compassion. Broadmead Care works with its partners - Island Health, Veterans Affairs Canada and BC Housing - to serve our community by meeting the health, social and housing needs of seniors, veterans, and adults with disabilities. Broadmead Care is the primary provider of residential care and day programs for veterans on Vancouver Island.Broadmead Care owns and operates: The Veterans Memorial Lodge - a 229-bed residential care facility with 115 Priority Access Beds for veterans, 110 community beds and four respite care beds for veterans; Veterans Health Centre - the only centre in Greater Victoria that provides health, social and recreational services for WWII veterans living in the community; and Nigel Program for Adults with Disabilities - a residential program for 40 adults with disabilities between the ages of 19 and 55 living at Nigel and Harriet House. Beckley Farm Lodge - a 65-bed residential care home in James Bay with an outreach program and one respite care bed. Rest Haven Lodge - a 73-bed residential care home in Sidney.
