About This Cause
United Way of Thunder Bay is a local organization that focuses collective community efforts on the issue of poverty through investing in our community in three ways: meeting people's basic needs, helping kids be all they can be, and building strong and healthy communities. Donations stay 100% local, always. As of March 2024, the United Way of Thunder Bay has been working to improve lives for 60 years. Having evolved from our roots as a "fundraiser" to a community convener, United Way of Thunder Bay mobilizes partners: business, labour, service provides, community leaders and residents in Thunder Bay and across Northwest Ontario helping to create opportunities for a better life for everyone. Through community conversations and collective action, we are working to achieve meaningful, long-term improvements to quality of life by addressing not only the symptoms of the problems but also getting at the root causes. Together we can Build a Community United Against Poverty!
