About This Cause

Please consider a gift to support immigrants, refugees and newcomers in building their new lives in Canada. Together we can help them thrive! THE ISSUE MOSAIC is one of Canada’s largest settlement and employment services organizations, improving communities by welcoming and supporting immigrants, refugees and newcomers. The Canadian economy depends 27% on Immigrants, refugees and newcomers for the labour force and they contribute diverse perspectives and skill sets to the benefit of our economy and society. Yet newcomers face numerous barriers to full participation in Canadian society and gaps in the support to enable their full integration and needed for Canadian jobs. Learning English, having soft skills, getting an opportunity to contribute. That is where MOSAIC – and supporters like you – come in. THE WORK MOSAIC works to welcome, integrate and advocate for newcomers. We offer comprehensive services for refugees, immigrants, migrant workers, refugee claimants, international students and Canadian citizens at multiple locations in BC. We also extend our help overseas with online services. KEY PROGRAMS Advocacy: MOSAIC advocates for and engages communities in the creation of a just and inclusive society. Advocacy efforts encompass advising policy makers, contributing to public discourse, and building partnerships to address systematic issues – all while ensuring people with lived experience are an integral part of these efforts. Settlement: Newcomers may be dealing with health issues, poverty, feelings of isolation, and more. Our programs support Permanent Residents and Convention Refugees in adapting to their new life. Employment: As a newcomer, translating your credentials, finding work, and adapting to the Canadian work culture can be challenging. Our programs and services help job seekers of all kinds with their employment needs, and build connections with employers for long-term employment. TESTIMONIALS “Find out about the organizations that can help you and give you good advice and support, like MOSAIC. Without MOSAIC, I couldn’t do any of it. Here I learned language and culture and everything I needed to succeed.” Davood from Iran "My kids are doing great because of the MOSAIC Family Centre. They started reading before going to school, which I learned how important early learning was. I learned about cooking, my rights and responsibilities as a Canadian citizen. I was empowered by the staff. They were a role model for me." Amal from Sudan
