About This Cause

ISSofBC is the oldest, non-profit immigrant-serving organization in BC, established in 1972 to respond to the settlement needs of 800 Ismaili refugees fleeing Idi Amin's rule in Uganda. As one of the largest multi-ethnic immigrant-serving agencies in Canada, ISSofBC services over 25,000 clients a year in 14 sites throughout Metro Vancouver. Over 350 staff and 800 active volunteers work together to provide language, employment and settlement services in over 40 languages.
